Get Smart about Energy – Home Energy Kits

Donegal County Library Service offers Home Energy Kits that you can borrow for free from your local library for up to 7 days.

The kits help you understand how energy is used in your home, identify heat loss and wasted energy, and find simple ways to save money and improve comfort.

What’s in the kit?

  • Plug in energy monitor
  • Thermal leak detector
  • Thermal imaging camera
  • Radiator key
  • Temperature and humidity meter
  • Fridge freezer thermometer

The tools are easy to use, with no technical experience needed, and are great for getting the whole household involved. By making a few simple changes, you could reduce energy bills by up to 20%.

How to borrow

Contact your local library to check availability. Opening times and locations are available at HERE. If you are not a member of the library, that’s not a problem. Library membership is free, and you can join very easily at your nearest branch or online HERE.
