Donegal County Council is inviting members of the public, community groups, landowners, businesses, and organisations to have their say on the draft County Donegal Biodiversity Action Plan 2026 - 2030. The Draft County Donegal Biodiversity Action Plan 2026-2030 provides a framework for biodiversity action over the next five years, with the vision to protect, restore, and celebrate biodiversity in County Donegal.

The Draft County Donegal Biodiversity Action Plan 2026 – 2030 is available for review online at www.consult.donegal.ie/ from the 23rd of February to 23rd of March 2026, inclusive.
The Draft County Donegal Biodiversity Action Plan is also accompanied by the following reports:
1. Appropriate Assessment Screening Report
2. Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report
Have your Say
Submissions in relation to the Draft County Donegal Biodiversity Action Plan 2026-2030, should be made between the 23rd of February to 23rd of March 2026 inclusive.
A submission can be submitted by one of the following methods:
· Online portal: Use our online survey portal to submit your views at https://consult.donegal.ie/.
- Email to: biodiversity@donegalcoco.ie. Subject headline should read " Draft County Donegal Biodiversity Action Plan 2026-2030"
- In writing to: Biodiversity Officer, Donegal County Council, County House, Lifford, County Donegal, F93 Y622.
- In person at public biodiversity drop-in clinics with Donegal County Council’s Biodiversity Officer as detailed
· All submissions should include your name and address, and where relevant, details of any organisation, community group or company etc., which you represent.
The deadline for submissions is Monday 23rd March 2026.
