Earagail Arts Festival and Donegal County Council Library Service are inviting members of the public to participate in The Human Library®.
The Human Library® is, in the true sense of the word, a library of people. The organisation hosts events all over the world where readers can borrow human beings serving as open books and have conversations they would not normally have access to. On Thursday 17th July it will be held at Central Library, Letterkenny from 1.00 to 8.00pm.
Every human book from The Human Library® bookshelf represents a group in our society that is often subjected to prejudice, stigmatization or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, disability, social status, ethnic origin, etc.
The Human Library® creates a safe space for dialogue where topics are discussed openly between human books and their readers, a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered.
