November, 01 Saturday 08:00PM - 09:30PM
Cove Hill, Port Road, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Ireland. F92 C8HD
Join us for a thrilling evening of spoken word, music history, and cultural insight as John Robb, legendary music journalist, musician, and author, takes to the stage. Known for his powerful presence, sharp intellect, and punk ethos, Robb will share stories from his extraordinary life — from forming The Membranes, documenting the rise of Nirvana and Britpop, to running one of the UK’s top music and culture websites, Louder Than War.
Robb’s most recent book, The Art of Darkness: The History of Goth, is a global bestseller and a definitive take on one of music’s most influential subcultures. Expect stories, reflections, and razor-sharp commentary from someone who has been at the heart of punk, post-punk, Madchester and beyond.
The evening also features a live interview with Richard Jobson, frontman of seminal punk band Skids. In conversation with John Robb, Jobson will reflect on punk’s revolutionary spirit, his partnership with the late Stuart Adamson (Big Country), the cultural explosion of late-70s Britain, and a career spanning music, film, literature and broadcasting.
Don’t miss this unique event that brings together two iconic figures for a deep dive into creativity, rebellion, and the ever-evolving world of music and culture.
